In class research question

Reflect on what you have found on your research question so far. What information have you found? What do you still need to find? Have you had to rethink your question -- either making it more narrow or more broad -- since the last time you posted about your research question?

So far in my research i have found lots of online info about how politics effect childhood obesity. I have found online articles that are directed at my question.I have gotten a lot of info on the programs the government has created to try to help with childhood obesity. I have also read about the Clinton admen and how they came up with the idea of diet cokes in the schools and healthier food for kids. I have also read about why physical education was brought into schools. I have also found a book in the library that is directly about my topic. I still need more info though. At first I thought that the majority of my results would be and the United States but I am finding that a lot of the results are comparing to United states to Europe. So now I can compare why the system Europe has is working better than the one we have in place. From the research so far it seems that Europe has a better system in place for fighting childhood obesity. I have rethought my question and narrowed it down to how do politics effect childhood obesity.

  1. You choose a good topic to research. Child obesity has become a big problem. It seems to be increasing every year. This problem can affect kids later in life as well as now. Also politics does have a big effect on child obesity with the different ideas that they came up with to prevent it.

  3. I agree, that topic has been getting bigger lately. This is a problem that can cause life expectancies go down if nothing is done about it. This topic is very popular so you should be finding information all over about it. Goodluck in your research!

  4. You have made a great research topic so far! Child obesity will have a lot of information to use in your research. I need to find more time to research my topic, as well as you have done. Im sure you will do great in your research. Goodluck on your paper.

  5. How politics affect childhood obesity might still be too big for a 5 page paper. Is there one specific policy related to childhood obesity that you could focus on? Maybe one proposed law that became a political issue? Or one law that was passed in Europe but failed in the US because of political pressures?
